UNIFORMS

Purchasing the Uniform

Each student is required to have one Dress Uniform. The Dress Uniform is required wear for chapel days and on other designated occasions (i.e. Picture Days). Other items are also available which may be worn on non-chapel days.

Uniforms may be purchased through the French Toast Company at https://www.frenchtoast.com/schoolbox/schools/leon-valley-christian-academy-QS5FMLR using school code QS5FMLR or the approved uniform items may also be purchased at any local department store (Walmart, JCPenney, Sears).  There are also local uniform stores that include The School Yard at the Wonderland Mall, Dennis Uniforms at 431 Isom Rd or Uniforms Plus at 7142 San Pedro Ave. 

Wearing the Uniform

Uniforms are to be worn properly while students are on campus. On school events away from campus, uniforms are also to be worn properly. Students represent LVCA wherever they go, particularly when in uniform. These regulations apply to the required Dress Uniform and the optional uniforms. Ultimately the teachers and administrators are responsible for interpreting and enforcing the uniform regulations.

The following are guidelines for the proper way to wear the school uniform:

• Shirts are to be tucked in while students are on campus or while off campus on a school event (Exception: the girls’ over-blouse). No emblems are to be on the dress or polo shirts.
• Belts are to be worn on garments with belt loops 1st-8th grade(Exception: Pre-K and Kinder students without belt loops).
• Coats and jackets may be worn as weather dictates and should be plain, with no logos, no letters, and no characters. Coats and/or jackets may not be worn in the classroom. Only the cardigan sweaters may be worn in the classroom.
• Jewelry: girls only may wear one pair of stud earrings (for safety reasons). Rings must be simple and be limited to one on each hand (for safety reasons). Necklaces must be tucked into shirts and may not show. The staff has the authority to require the removal of any inappropriate or distracting jewelry. If watches and bracelets are worn they must fit snugly on the wrist.
• Girls’ hair accessories (which include only hair bows, headbands, or scrunchies) must only be natural colors (i.e. brown, black, silver) or the solid red, white, or navy blue uniform colors.
• Tattoos are strongly discouraged.
• Hair must be a natural color, not dyed.
• Boys’ hair length must be above the collar with no spikes or similar styles.
• ALL STUDENT’S hem lengths must be no shorter than one inch above the knee.
• Caps and/or hats will not be worn inside the buildings at anytime.
• Socks are to be plain with no stripes, characters, designs or ruffles.
• Shoes with any lights, sound effects, wheels or character designs are NOT allowed and should be suitable for playing outside. For safety purposes, sandals, flip flops and other stylish shoes such as “cowboy boots” or “slip-ons” are not allowed. These type shoes can be a hazard on the playground and on stairs.
• Jeans (only to be worn on Fridays or on field trips) cannot have holes, tears, designs, etc.
  It is ultimately the parent’s responsibility to ensure that children come to school dressed appropriately. Any item not listed below is a uniform violation. Students arriving at school out of uniform, for the first time, will receive a written notice to correct the infraction by the next school day. Subsequent violations will require correction before the student can return to class. Any absences due to uniform violations are considered unexcused absences. We encourage parents to teach their children to be responsible for dressing appropriately and adhere to the set policy.

BOYS Uniform

• REQUIRED Dress Uniform Attire (worn on Chapel Wednesday & Picture Day):
  • Long navy pants
  • Black or brown belt (required for 1st-8th grade. Also, Pre K and Kinder with belt loops)
  • White long or short sleeve button down dress shirt
  • Solid color navy tie
  • Navy socks
  • Casual dress black or brown shoes
  • Navy blue knit cardigan sweater (*this item is optional)
• Daily Uniform Attire Includes:
  • Navy or Khaki Docker-style pants or long shorts
  • Black or brown belt (required of 1st-8th grade. Also, Pre K and Kinder with belt loops)
  • Red or navy blue collared knit polo shirts OR white buttoned down dress shirt
  • Black, navy or white socks
  • Black or brown casual shoes or black, brown or white solid color tennis shoes
  • Navy blue knit cardigan sweater (*this item is optional)
• Field Trip & Casual Friday Attire Includes:
  • Denim blue jeans or shorts
  • Brown or black belt required for all 1st-8th grade. Also Pre K and Kinder with Belt loops
  • LVCA spirit shirt (required on ALL field trips)
  • Any color polo shirt style listed above
  • Black, navy or white socks
  • Black or brown casual shoes or black, brown or white solid color tennis shoe

GIRLS Uniform

• REQUIRED Dress Uniform Attire (worn on Chapel Wednesday & Picture Day):
  • Navy skirt
  • Black or brown belt (required for all 1st-8th grade. Also, Pre K and Kinder with belt loops)
  • White long or short sleeve button down dress shirt
  • Solid color navy cross-tie for girls
  • Navy socks, knee-high socks or tights
  • Casual dress black or brown shoes (i.e. Mary Janes)
  • Navy blue knit cardigan sweater (*this item is optional)
• Daily Uniform Attire Includes:
  • Navy or Khaki Docker-style jumpers (Pre-K & Kindergarten ONLY), dresses, pants, skirts or long shorts
  • Black or brown belts required for all 1st-8th grade. Also, all Pre K and Kinder with belt loops
  • Red or navy blue collared knit girls polo shirts OR white buttoned down blouses
  • Solid colored black, navy or white socks, tights or stockings
  • Black or brown casual shoes or black, brown or white solid color tennis shoes
  • Navy blue knit cardigan sweater (*this item is optional)
• Field Trip & Casual Friday Attire Include
  • Denim blue jeans, long shorts, or skirts
  • Black or brown belts required for all 1st-8th grade. Also, Pre K and Kinder with belt loops
